Compassionate therapy for women navigating reproductive and identity-based challenges by Dr. Jeanette Mayse

Jeanette Mayse, PhD, ABPP, PLLC

About Me

I'm a board-certified counseling psychologist with nearly two decades of experience providing therapy, supervision, and training in digital mental health, university, and private practice settings. My clinical work centers high-achieving women, therapists navigating professional fatigue and burnout, and individuals carrying complex trauma, particularly related to reproductive experiences, sexuality, and identity-based harm.

As a woman of color and a therapist myself, I understand how isolating healing work can feel, especially when the world expects you to be strong, silent, and self-sacrificing. My practice offers something different: a space to be fully human. A space where you don’t have to over-explain or shrink to be seen. My approach is warm, collaborative, and rooted in evidence-based care — without pathologizing your pain or minimizing your strength.

I am licensed in Arizona, Texas, and Washington, and can see residents of those states via telehealth. I am also PSYPACT certified, which allows me to offer telehealth therapy in an additional 39 states (list of eligible states can be found here). Whether you're seeking relief, clarity, connection, or transformation, I'm here to help you move through it — with courage, compassion, and care that fits you.

I have taught at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels at Texas A&M University, the University of Texas at Austin, and Texas A&M University at Central Texas. I have over 19 years of experience in supervision of psychology trainees, including practicum externs, predoctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows, and early career psychologists.

On the flip side, when I'm not in therapy or teaching mode, you'll find me curating playlists that pair perfectly with both joy and reflection, crafting, laughing at my own jokes (hey, someone’s got to), or being a part-time photog and finding stunning nature spots in Texas to capture.

My priority is to craft a safe, inclusive space where your story is honored and your power is reclaimed.
