Identity-based Trauma
You don’t need to shrink to be safe. You deserve to take up space — even when you’re still healing.
Some wounds don’t come from one event — they come from a lifetime of being unseen, misnamed, or controlled.
Oppression-based trauma is often quiet, chronic, and cumulative. It can look like code-switching until your throat hurts, being the only one in the room (again), or carrying the weight of others’ expectations just to feel safe. Microaggressions, systemic racism, misogyny, anti-Blackness, and intergenerational trauma don’t always “qualify” as trauma in the systems we live in, but your body knows better. It keeps the score. It keeps the ache.
I support those who are navigating:
Microaggressions and Daily Discrimination
Workplace Oppression
Internalized Oppression:
Intersectional Trauma
Racial Trauma
Gender-Based Violence
Family or Cultural Rejection
Colorism and Intra-Community Bias
Religious Trauma
Historical and Intergenerational Trauma
Immigration and Acculturation Stress
Body Policing and Appearance-Based Discrimination
Identity Erasure or Invisibility
Imposter Syndrome Rooted in Oppression
Social Exclusion and Isolation
What to Expect
Therapy doesn’t erase what’s happened, but it can offer a space to stop performing, start feeling, and name what’s real. In our work together, we’ll explore the ways oppression has shaped your story and the ways you want to reshape it now. I offer a space where you don’t have to translate your experience, justify your anger, or pretend you're okay.
Navigating the world with the weight of identity-based trauma can leave you feeling silenced, guarded, and uncertain of your own worth. My approach is rooted in creating a space where your experiences are seen, honored, and held with care. We won’t rush through your pain or diminish your truth. Instead, we’ll explore how systemic oppression, discrimination, or cultural harm have impacted your sense of self — and work toward reclaiming your story. You’ll gain tools to manage the emotional toll of ongoing stress, build a stronger sense of safety, and reconnect with your power and resilience. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more seen, and more free to move through life with confidence and self-acceptance.
Healing is Possible
You deserve healing that affirms your truth. Liberation that isn’t just conceptual, but embodied. Together, we’ll begin to reclaim your voice, your safety, and your right to take up space, fully, unapologetically, and on your own terms.
